Housing Works acquires and rehabilitates existing houses and develops new properties, then sold to qualified homebuyers. The homebuyer owns the improvements, while Housing Works retains ownership of the land, which significantly lowers the cost of the home to the buyer. The program aims to bring homeownership within reach of more first-time, moderate-income buyers while giving developers/builders secure commitments for new homes in advance.
