Telephone screenings are provided for emergency shelter (men's, women's, couples, and families) and winter shelter, including severe weather sites and homeless safe parking programs. Households are assessed for eligibility for housing/rent assistance programs (prevention, rapid re-housing, transitional, and permanent supportive), as well as diversion programs. Funding is limited and assistance is not guaranteed.

Eligibility:
-Age 18 and older, individuals, couples, and families who are
homeless (not couch-surfing)
-Rental assistance may include some of the following requirements: Must have a 14-day pay or vacate or eviction notice, be doubled up/couch surfing, meet income eligibility requirements, and/or reside or be able to find a rental unit within the city limits of Vancouver. Program availability fluctuates throughout the year.

INTAKE PROCEDURE:
-Single men's shelter: Call or text; placements are provided based
on bed availability and vulnerability of the client. Must have a
valid way to contact client (email, phone, message number). Should
check in weekly to update any information if they are still in need
of shelter.
-Single women's/family shelter: Call or text for availability and/or to be placed on the waitlist. Call weekly to update information and to indicate there is still a need for shelter.
-Housing/safe parking programs: Call or text Housing Hotline for screening
-Rental assistance/diversion programs: Call for information and eligibility, as funding is limited
-Street Outreach: Call message phone with date and time you became aware of encampment/person; location of encampment/person (include cross streets/landmarks); and helpful identifiers such as estimated number of people, tents, and/or vehicles.
Voicemail option after-hours or if specialists are unavailable.
