ABC HOUSE
COMMUNITY EDUCATION
ADULT PRESENTATIONS
We believe that prevention education is the key to ending child abuse. ABC House offers a comprehensive community outreach program that includes a variety of training topics. Programs targeting adult professionals and community members focus on preventing, identifying, and responding to concerns of child abuse. Be a hero and learn how to report abuse and how to keep children safe on the internet and social media by attending a free training. During the pandemic all trainings are virtual.

YOUTH PRESENTATIONS
Designed for middle school and high school-aged youth who attend Benton and Linn county schools, our presentations are used to supplement education in health and wellness, child development, family and consumer science, and technology classes. Topics include child abuse awareness and social media and internet safety. The presentations are also available for youth groups, camp counselors and other middle/high school-aged groups of youth.

CHILD PRESENTATIONS
We provide presentations for children grades K-5 using the Child Safety Matters® program, created by the Monique Burr Foundation. This comprehensive, evidence-based curriculum educates and empowers children and the adults in their lives to prevent, recognize, and respond appropriately to bullying, cyberbullying, all types of abuse, and digital abuse dangers.

GIRLS CIRCLE
Girls Circle is a peer support group for female-identifying youth that combines creative activity and facilitated discussion to build resiliency, self-efficacy, and self-esteem. Group sessions are held in an emotionally safe setting where girls are encouraged to share experiences that are helpful to one another. Educational presentations about child abuse prevention, mandatory reporting, and internet safety are provided to adults and youth in our community. We also offer the Darkness to Light: Stewards of Children training, which helps adults learn to recognize the signs of child sexual abuse and how to respond. ABC House also holds a peer support group, Girls Circle, to help teen girls build self-esteem.
