The Child Care Reimbursement for resource parents and relative caregivers is intended to help pay child care costs. Certified resource parents and relative caregivers who, due to employment or attending college or other educational programs, require child care for children placed in their homes qualify for reimbursement.

Payments are issued as reimbursement to the resource parent and can be up to $375 a month per child. The reimbursement may only be used when the children are served by licensed or approved childcare settings. If the provider is a relative or family friend who is not required to be licensed, DHS must approve that provider.

Protest activities and marches are not included. Participation must be voluntary and not part of the job, internship, or other employment.
