SENIOR COMPANION PROGRAM
Provides volunteers to assist older adults and adults with disabilities. Can help with shopping, providing rides, and companionship. The program supports independence through shared activities, transportation, and companionship. Senior Companions also provide short periods of relief to primary caregivers.

Volunteer opportunities available. If income-eligible, Senior Companion volunteers may receive a small stipend plus mileage reimbursement.

SENIOR COMPANION AND FOSTER GRANDPARENTS PROGRAM OF EASTERN AND CENTRAL OREGON
Senior Companion Volunteers provide services to adults needing simple companionship or special assistance (including transportation, visitation, client advocacy, and light housekeeping). Volunteers receive a stipend of $4.00 per hour for each hour of service, mileage reimbursement for program-related activities, and training, orientation, and recognition. Foster Grandparent Volunteers assist designated school children with reading and math skills. Also, assist pre-school age youth with pre-reading skill development and socialization.

Medical, dental, and prescription drug bills, and health insurance costs can be consider when determining eligibility. Actual amounts (x 50%) of medical, dental, and health insurance costs will be considered as an offset when determining entrance eligibility.
