Provides multiple housing counseling services, including home pre-purchase counseling, HUD-approved mortgage default counseling, and reverse mortgage counseling.

-Home pre-purchase counseling: HUD-certified housing counselors review the household budget and credit report to determine how much a client can afford for a house payment, help clients weigh financing and down payment options, and help clients understand the home buying process.

-Mortgage default counseling: Housing counselors work with struggling homeowners and their mortgage lenders to determine possible options for avoiding default and foreclosure.

-Reverse mortgage counseling: Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) counselors work with older adults interested in tapping their equity, informing them of the impacts of the loan, the cost, and potential alternatives.

The ClearPoint office in Portland partners with community organizations and businesses, including Rent Well, Home Forward, Community Action, Oregon Opportunity Network, and Oregon Jump$tart. ClearPoint credit counselors in Portland also provide educational outreach and give community presentations.
