CAMP KESEM
CAMP KESEM UNIVERSITY OF OREGON
Week-long summer camp for children affected by a parent's cancer that provides a peer-based support network. Activities include games, arts and crafts, sports, water activities, and adventures in nature. Camp is staffed by screened and trained college students. Camp nurse is on-site at all times to care for any injury or illness and to issue prescribed medications as needed.

The chapter of Camp Kesem that runs camps in Oregon is based at the University of Oregon.
Eligibility: Ages 6-18 who have lost a parent to cancer, have a parent undergoing cancer treatment, or whose parent is a cancer survivor. Eligible children may return to Camp Kesem more than once. Children with disabilities and special needs are considered on a case-by-case basis.
Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
CANDLELIGHTERS FOR CHILDREN WITH CANCER
Offers support, education, advocacy, activities, and a camp for families whose children have or have had cancer. Works through all the stages: discovery, diagnosis, treatment, and remission, and can also help with other issues, such as those that arise when a child dies. Will immediately connect new members with another family that has been through a similar experience.
