TRIBAL PROGRAMS

Offers a reduction in the monthly cost or installation of phone or broadband service. The Tribal Lifeline program can reduce the cost of phone bills by as much as $40.25 per month or the cost of broadband bills by as much as $44.25 per month. The Tribal Link Up program can provide a one-time discount of up to $100 on the initial installation or activation of phone service.
Federal and state regulations limit the Lifeline benefit to one disbursal per household for either phone or broadband service.

Eligibility: Individuals and households at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty level or who are receiving benefits from one of the following: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid, Federal Public Housing Assistance, or Veterans/Survivors Pension benefits who live on the federally-recognized tribal lands which are as follows:
-Burns Paiute Tribe
-Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians
-Confederated Tribes of Grande Ronde
-Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians
-Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs
-Coquille Indian Tribe
-Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians
-Klamath Tribes

LIFELINE

Federal program that lowers the monthly cost of home phone, wireless phone, and internet services. Eligible customers will get up to $9.25 toward their bill. Savings may be applied to phone or internet bills, but not both. Website offers a list of service providers.

Also provides a 6 month financial hardship program (recipients must apply for and qualify for a regular lifeline program after the initial 6 months). Recipients can receive a $9.25 monthly discount for phone, internet, or bundled services.

Enhanced Tribal Benefit program recipients can receive a discount of up to $34.25 per month and a reduction of up to $100 for first-time connection charges for voice service at their primary residence.

Survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, and related crimes
-Household income less 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines
-Currently enrolled in Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
-Currently enrolled in Free and Reduced-Price School Lunch or School Breakfast Program, including enrollment at a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) school or school district
-Received a Federal Pell Grant in the current award year
