The Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program helps low-income residents afford rental homes and apartments at normal market rates. Project-based Section 8 assistance is available at many locations throughout Multnomah County. These are apartments where the subsidy stays with the unit (it can not be taken by the resident to another location). Listings of apartment vacancies are updated approximately every 4-6 weeks on the website. Also accepts calls to report misuse of the program.

HOMES FOR GOOD HOUSING AGENCY LANE COUNTY
SECTION 8 HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER PROGRAM
Provides rental assistance to low-income families in the private rental market. A family member must complete a housing application and be placed on a waitlist. When the family reaches the top of the waitlist, income and assets are verified and the family may be considered eligible. The eligible family then locates a unit and a willing owner and enters into a lease agreement; the owner contracts with Homes for Good. Homes for Good pays the owner a portion of the family's rent based on their income. New families are added to the program as vacancies occur. Fields complaints about Section 8 housing.

Vancouver Housing Authority (VHA) offers the Section 8 program and fields complaints about rental practices and properties. VHA offers two types of vouchers:
-Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8): Provides assistance to very-low-income families, older adults, and persons needing special features or accommodations to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private rental market.
